Hey Bud, lets party! Wind season is finally here!

Stu Nahan: [Spicoli is dreaming that he’s won a  surfing competition] Hello everybody! I’m Stu Nahan, and I’d like you to meet this young man. His name, Ryan Spicoli. And Ryan, congratulations to you. Things looked kind of rough out there today.

Ryan Spicoli: Well, I’ll tell you Stu, I did battle some humongous waves! But you know, just like I told the guy on ABC, “Danger is my business!”

Stu Nahan: You know, a lot of people expected maybe Mark “Cutback” Musgrave or Don “Jungle Death” Renuart would take the honors this year.

Ryan Spicoli: [laughs incredulously] Those guys are fags!

Stu Nahan: [oblivious] That’s fantastic! Let me ask you a question. When you get out there, do you ever fear for your life?

Ryan Spicoli: Well Stu I’ll tell you, kitesurfing’s not a sport, it’s a way of life, you know, a hobby. It’s a way of looking at that wave and saying, “Hey bud, let’s party!”

[focuses on Stu’s sport coat

Ryan Spicoli: Where’d you get this jacket?

Stu Nahan: [evasive] I got this from the network. Let me ask you a question. What’s next for Ryan Spicoli?

Ryan Spicoli: Heading over to the Luna Pier and Catawba internationals, and then me and Biz are going to wing on over to Flint and jam with Eminem!

[to the two girls next to him

Ryan Spicoli: And you guys are invited too!

Thats right Ryan, its not a sport, its a way of life. Well said Bud! Now lets all get out there & party before its too late!  Yeah boy!

  1. just got done with a kiteboard land lesson at MB, pretty hot and even though inland it looks windy there was not a whole lot of wind out at the lake. The Traveler & Judd weren’t moving all that good on big gear. Wind line was waaaaaaaaaaay out there.

          1. Typical warm-weather west for MBSP.
I was lit on my 9 when I was out deep… seemed to be building the whole time I was out. John joined me for a bit. Wish I could have stayed longer (rode from 1:30 to 3ish)

          2. Thanks to everyone that left. Great session, nice swell and called it just before the wind line went WAY deep. Drunk lady throwing up on the side of the road on the way home LOL

          3. second shift scored!!!!! The most fun I had at MB in a long time!!! AND we came in at the right time!!!! I owe it all to the energy brownie……..

          4. SCORED! 44m kite and fatman board at the PP….. 5 ft jumps! yee haa..
            oh well got wet

          5. damn, it must of been light!!!!! A 44m kite is huuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  2. almost tempting but I don’t think I’m biting today, tomorrow more W & kinda looks good in the late afternoon……

        1. First swim/walk of shame this year! No wetsuit. Warm water. Victor went to the restroom and never made it back

  3. Locals only hook up special: we have two 2011 O’Neill 4/3mm Psycho RG8 wetsuits left (L & XL) retails at $359.95- for $198…….check out the reviews & I dare you to find it cheaper! The catch is you probably won’t need the 4/3 until late Sept. The water temp range from O’Neill is 42-65……first come first served!

  4. Gary & myself scored a stormy 5.5 day, bad weather sirens going off right before we got hammered with a huge wind line & mega rain……..

    1. we had a 1/2 day at the sandbar…. then that storm hit us….we were hiding from it on the bar…ggg

oh well good 4 hr 12m ses before it hit

  5. what a crappy day, no wind in the forecast until Monday(maybe) & the rapture hits at 6 o’clock today!

  6. Thanks for the wind last Sun guys. Rode solo off Marblehead and under estimated the wind big time. After my walk of shame, switched from 6.5 to 4.5 and went launching off some great waves. Much deeper water over there. New favorite spot on a N to NE.

  7. Hatteras spring 2011 is in the books, here is the short story version of the trip: load, drive, reload, drive a long time, fish hook, stack em high, check in, no drinking, getting drunk or being loud warning, Don still gay, drive S, look at water, drive, look at more water, top dog, drive, Rooster Cogburn, dick towel, dare devil, Dada, Hostel, more dick towel, shim, wake up way too early, stack em high, shopping, more Rooster Cogburn, Exxon lunch, dick towel, dirty dicks, girly drink, mud butt, stack em high, actually ride, ride some more, Black Pelican, stack em high, ride, load, shop, drive, mega traffic jam, drive, shift load, drive, home 5AM! There you have it, the complete 4 day summary!

  8. Big north winds, cooler, 100% chance rain, and the Red Sky crew out of town.
Sounds like the perfect storm. I am heading to MB after lunch unless it is sparking.

        1. I can’t believe the local Erie forecast isn’t showing anything-with John going to Key West & Ryan, Don & myself heading to Hatteras……..

          1. ………and I forgot Ryan L heading to Rhode Island thursday to hang with Frazier & Rush!

      1. I went to MBSP after school. From 6 to 7:30, it was solid 13 conditions. Not gusty. No holes. Wish I had a support crew to see how big it was out deep.

    1. ryan 5m(no pink on it …bummer)
, me 7m fun time… gusts were big.
quick hit at work now “paying” for it (no sleep)

  9. sketchy direction today, WSW? MB probably is the call……..makes me want to kick my self in the ass for not taking the last few cold wave days!!!!!!

      1. Pete report from MB: No wind line in sight, pretty gusty, all or nothing…….he is going home.

        1. tired of looking at white caps in the pond here. Heading to my Super SS in catawba. Should be perfect for SSW.

  10. A guy from LP on friday sent me a cd with some sexy closeup pictures of Ryan, Mark, and Pete. I’ll drop it off at the shop on the way to class.

  11. Todays rain & cold day roundup: me- out (too cold, wet & shitty), Ryan O-out (has to do laundry) & Ryan L-out (has a distended labia). Its gotta warm up sooner or later!

  12. Sunday big west gale warning in effect. Getting owned 2 out of the last 3 days…….priceless! Hope to be out at MB 1 or 2ish.

        1. yesterdays summary, Brad, Ryan B. on 4.5 & myself on 4.1. Brad & Ryan B dominated on their 4.5s, my 4.1 provided as much swimming as it did riding! Classic WSW at MB, all or nothing with a lot more wind the further off shore you got.

    1. Couple of people at work today asked me “did you know that guy in the paper? it looked like we was going to die!”

  13. Great day today! WAY overpowered on my 7 and not enough faith in my old leaky 5 to rerig. UPS can’t ship my new one to the shop fast enough. Hmm maybe a new 6….
Toledo blade and Channel 24 in attendance—-hope my lawnmowin’ doesn’t look too bad

Rumor has it the wind came in quick. Blew someone off an 11 and had the fire dept and police looking.

    1. Glad I didn’t die!!!! 4.5 on the first pull & was way lit, switched down to my 4.1-which I’m usually too fat for- and was still way lit! My last run was pretty sketchy, ate it out in front of 3 fingers & didn’t know if I was coming back!!!!!!! My Channel 24 interview should be pretty funny, stick a mike in front of a dumb guy & what do you think you’re gonna get?

      1. just saw the channel 11 footage on the news, shot of Ryan riding, Patrick yabbering, shot of Pete heading in & me sounding super intelligent!!!!!

    1. Don’t think I have seen this as LP before, but the tiny ass beach is almost gone. Water must have been blown in. Margin of error just got smaller.

  14. Garys AM report from Log Point: “Its big and strong wicked I’ll have to think about this.
live from (Tuna Rear) 🙂 aka LP “
